U. de Deportes take on the visitors Ayacucho at “Estadio Monumental” in the round six of the Peruvian Primera Division. The game will be played in Lima on Monday, June 11th.
U. de Deportes are the multiple champion’s title holder of the Peruvian elite division. Besides, according to the IFFHS the upcoming hosts are the best club of Peru plus they occupy the 28th position in the standings of the strongest teams of South America in XXth century. However, the side has become much weaker in recent years and couldn’t find its best play. U. de Deportes finished the previous season, sitting even lower in the standings than their forthcoming rival, although “Los Merengues” had significantly higher football class. The start of this season is also rather unsuccessful for the club as it has earned one defeat and four draws in five encounters conducted.

In their turn, Ayacucho do not belong to the Peruvian grands or at least strong sides. The team usually settles in the lower part of the Primera Division table. Nevertheless, “Los Gasiferos” are not considered to be the hopeless outsiders as they tend to give a fight in each clash. Still, the side failed completely the start of this season, having lost four out of five battles played. Moreover, Ayacucho have conceded 12 goals already which is the worst result in the elite division. At the same time the team not only conceded in each encounter, it also managed to score in four out of five tackles conducted.
U. de Deportes are the obvious favourites of the upcoming game, but I won’t be so sure and I believe that Ayacucho at least are capable to score. Apart from the opponents’ results in six latest head-to-heads: 4:2, 1:1, 3:3, 2:0, 1:1, 4:2, the Peruvian Primera Division pleases with numerous scored goals as nearly all its participants score goals in almost every clash. Besides, the forthcoming hosts conceded goals in all five encounters of this season while the visitors scored in four out of five tackles conducted, therefore, I presume that the sides will swoop by the goals.
Prediction for the match: Both teams to score.
