Shkupi are celebrating 10th anniversary this year. And only in 2015, the "doves" made their debut in the local First League. Quite quickly it turned out to become one of the leading clubs in North Macedonia, which made it possible to consistently play in European competitions since 2018. Last season was another breakthrough - they managed to take the historical, first championship. It allowed to debut in the Champions League. It turned out successfully, despite the fact that earlier, in 4 starts, "Shkupi" passed only 1 opponent, the Kosovar "Lapi" in last year's Conference League. The start in the Champions League was extremely successful: they defeated the Lincoln Red Imps 3-0 at home. True, in Gibraltar, a week later, the Macedonians already by the 69th minute down in 2 goals. In Zagreb, quite unexpectedly, it turned out to take a draw. Given the abolition of the away goal rule, you still need to win at home. But at least there is no need to recoup.

Dinamo Zagreb unquestionably dominates Croatian football in the 21st century. After the 2005/2006 draw, only once, in 2017, did it fail to get to the “gold”. And the title that was taken last spring was already the 23rd. This is not counting the successes of the Yugoslav times, when the Blues were also traditionally among the leaders. At the same time, there is nothing to brag about in European competition. But there is progress here too, for example, in 2019 it was possible to play in the group stage of the Champions League. And in the next draw, the Croats reached the quarterfinals of the Europa League. A year ago, however, they were sensationally knocked out in the qualification by Sheriff. But then the main round of the Europa League was passed, but then there was an experienced and strong Sevilla. In the new qualification, Ante Čačić's wards did not start very well. With "Shkupi" they conceded first, scored twice in return. But as soon as Ademi scored 2-1, the visitors were allowed to level the score.
Shkupi only recently began their performances on the international arena, and have not crossed paths with Dinamo Zagreb before. The Macedonians did not even arrange friendly matches with neighboring Croats. Bookmakers are confident that Dynamo will take into account the lesson of their failure, and will now achieve the desired result.
