And it seemed that this time they would cope with their modest task of not being relegated. But since mid-December, Dynamo Dresden has been on an unsuccessful streak without victories. It has not managed to win in six consecutive rounds. But after a 1-4 defeat to Hansa Rostock, the Yellow-Blacks tied against Paderborn on a foreign pitch.

Heidenheim took third place in 2020, but as often happens, the team lost in the promotion playoffs. After that, the team finished in a modest 8th place.
