PSG take on the visitors Lens in the round 31 match of French Ligue 1. The match will be played on Saturday, April 15th at Parc des Princes (Paris).
It is unlikely that anyone can find strong arguments against the opinion that PSG is the favorite in this match. I also tend to believe that the current champions of the country will earn three points and increase their lead in the table over Lens. However, I strongly doubt that Parisians will not concede in this match. In the last five rounds of Ligue 1, Christophe Galtier's team kept a clean sheet only once, winning 2-0 over Nice. However, they allowed their opponent to outperform them in terms of xG: 1.11 versus 1.61. In the other four games, the team conceded regardless of the result: 4-2 against Nantes, 2-1 against Brest, 0-2 against Rennes, and 0-1 against Lyon.

I think that Lens, who certainly dreams of catching up with the leader, can upset the opponent's goalkeeper once. Dreams are dreams, but at least Frank Haise's team should take the silver medals in the current season. Lens has had a splendid stretch of four straight wins in the championship: 4-0 over Clermont, 3-0 over Angers, 1-0 over Rennes, and 2-0 over Strasbourg. Before that, there were draws with Lille and Montpellier, both with a score of 1-1. Overall, the blood and gold team has scored in the opponents' net for nine straight Ligue 1 rounds.
Nobody disputes that Parisians are the favorites in this match. But there is no certainty that the star players will keep a clean sheet. The two home defeats (against Lyon and Rennes) were already mentioned above. Previously, at home, PSG won three straight games, but they conceded in all of them: one goal against Toulouse, two against Nantes, and three against Lille. Lens' players will enter this match charged up with the mood to take down the champions. And they can score at least one goal. After returning to the elite division, the blood and gold have consistently been scoring against PSG: 1-0, 2-1, 1-1, 1-1, 3-1. My prediction is that the guests will score. The odds are modest, but if you want, you can take the both teams to score at 1.69. Because Parisians are unlikely to allow themselves to lose, let alone without scoring.
Prediction for the match: Both teams to score – yes.
