Peru hosts Colombia in round 5 of the World Cup qualification. The match will be played on Friday, June 4th at Estadio Nacional (Lima)
The Incas were able to make it to the World Cup in 2018. This was the first such success for Peru since 1982. In Russia, the national team could not get out of the group but gained one victory and left a good overall impression. In 2019, Guerrero and the company reached the Copa America final, which was the best result in this tournament since 1975. But last fall, Ricardo Gareca's charges failed. In the first round, Peru managed to tie against Paraguay due to the double of Carrillo. But then the Incas suffered three defeats from Brazil (2-4), Chile (2-0), and Argentina (0-2). As a result, Peru is in the penultimate place, outranking Bolivia only in additional indicators. Let’s note that Farfan is injured again, and such experienced footballers as Zambrano, Christopher Gonzalez, Flores, Polo, and Jordi Reyna won’t help the team for various reasons either.

Colombia showed a good start to the current qualification. The Coffee Growers hammered Venezuela in the 1st round, and then they gained a draw against Chile thanks to Falcao's goal in the 91st minute. But the November matches turned out to be a complete failure. The Colombians conceded three goals from Uruguay at home and lost 6-1 to Ecuador away. It is not surprising that the resignation of Carlos Queiroz took place after such results. The new mentor, Reinaldo Rueda (previously he headed Honduras, Ecuador, Chile, and the same Colombians at the beginning of the century), began his work with a resonant decision. He expelled James Rodriguez, explaining it by his bad form. And the leader will not be taken even to Copa America. There will not be many more stars: Arias (he was seriously injured just in the national team), Murillo, Mojica, Quintero, Morelos, Luis Suarez (the one from Granada), and, most importantly, the captain and top scorer, Falcao.
Peru beat Colombia back in 2001. The last two matches (which took place in 2019) were won by Colombia with a total score of 4-0. The Coffee Makers have put themselves in the position of those who need to catch up, and now they have to fight for the maximum points in each meeting. We bet on their victory, but with a zero handicap.
Prediction for the match: Colombia to win with 0.0 handicap
