And it is quite logical – there are no competitors, the gold medals are yet at their hands, and there are squad-related problems. Moreover, there is no need in giving their all in the clash with Montpellier – PSG have the last Champions League round ahead. In their two latest games, the hosts got a minimum win and dropped points for the first time, meeting with Bordeaux. The latest head-to-heads with Montpellier are not very easy for PSG lately. The last meeting ended in the hammering at the hands of the Paris team indeed, but that was the only hammering in the last six encounters. The fact is that PSG take on the team which are currently second and boast safest defense so far (after the hosting side themselves, of course).

Montpellier keep up pleasing their fans. Their second position in the standings is not sensational at all. Michel Der Zakarian’s men will not give up for sure and they will continue to compete for their progression to the Champions League. That was clear by their last season performance – the guests have it all to speed up. As for now, they have added two great strikers and have further improved their tactics and defensive play. The results are obvious. In 2018, Montpellier have conceded in only three away fixtures, they leaked less than any other team on their last season travels, and we see no grounds for their hammering by the welcoming PSG.
Montpellier reminds English Burnley of the last season campaign. The ‘Clarets’ did not manage to show improvement, which is obviously not true of the present Montpellier. PSG have no longer been smashing anyone, they just win, putting as much efforts as the victory requires. In our view, the guests can fight even for one point tonight. The bet on Neymar and Co’s win with -2.5 handicap seems reasonable in another match; the coming clash, however, is expected to be quite difficult.
