Northern Ireland hosts the Netherlands in round 9 of Euro qualification. The match will be played on Saturday, November 16th at Windsor Park (Belfast)
A great start for the Northern Irish (a home 2:1 victory over the national team of Belarus and against the national teams of Estonia (1:2) and Belarus (0:1) away) made the team a real contender for the next round of the tournament. But the further course of events showed that Northern Ireland simply skimmed the cream off the situation. Two defeats (to Germany at home field - 0: 2, and the away one in Rotterdam - 3:1) transferred the successful team to the rank of a fighter for survival. At the same time, Northern Ireland has an active attack, but it simply does not have the skill to assert itself.

Should I describe the Dutch team? I think no. Everybody knows the speed and attack of the national team of this country. However, this is not Ajax in full force and not PSV, and there are a lot of mistakes in defense. Four consecutive wins do not say anything at all. In the first round, the Dutch lost to the Germans - 2:3. Truth be told, they did not score less than two goals after that. Three or four. By the way, the last match was against the Belarusians, and the Netherlands conceded either - 1:2.
The Irish are real fighters, but they won’t manage to withstand the Netherlands. Northern Ireland won only one head-to-head match, which took place in 1965 at the World Cup. Is it worth betting on all those young people who show three successful matches? In my opinion, it is Holland, which has direct competition with the Germans (by the way, the leaders have equal points in the group), will squeeze the maximum out of itself. The Irish do not have enough skills. I will bet on two goals of the visitors.
Prediction for the match: Netherlands to score over 1.5 goals
