The followers of Der Zakarian team cannot but admit that the current position of Montpellier HSC in the Ligue is well-deserved and not sensational at all. Though the club took the middle position in the last season table, their secure defense proved very impressive. Only Paris Saint-Germain F.C. missed fewer goals. Montpellier had only one challenge – they did not attack well. The addition of Laborde and Delort seems to have solved the problem. The team still miss not much, concentrating on the defensive line, but they’ve started to score more. At home, Montpellier lost only twice and won 4 times. If it continues like that (we believe it will), the Champions League will see the Armenian coach next season.

Stade Rennais F.C. are quite weird. Pretty flaky at times. The head coach Lamouchi style is interesting to observe, but, competing in two tournaments, it is not easy to stay safe in the Ligue 1 for long. Rennais position in the Europa League is hopeless, they cannot go up from the 3rd place. They score enough but concentrate too much on the attacks; as a result, the team did not miss only once in the latest 14 matches. Good they started to get points away. The Red and Blacks squad does not seem to be worse than the one of the opponent, but the home pitch factor may matter.
Montpellier know how to fail. When they miss a quick goal, they have to change the playbook. Сhasing the game is not always possible. Surprisingly, they are often defeated by a knowingly weaker opponent. Though we may admit these failures are getting fewer now. Unless the team did not concede in the Coupe de France (which could possibly be a mere sacrifice not to struggle in the national competition), we would call them one of the most consistent сompetitors in the Ligue 1. Being this much consistent, they must not lose at home.
