Molde take on the visitors Valerenga at “Aker Stadion” in the next matchday of the Norwegian Eliteserien. The game will be played in Molde on Sunday, July 8th.
Molde’s recent failures were gained on the road in the clashes against Ranheim and Kristiansund. On the contrary, the team produces extremely strong football in face of its supporters. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side has broken Stromsgodset 2:0, Start 3:1 and Stabaek 3:0 in the latest home fights. But Molde’s visit to Bergen on last weekend became the most spectacular battle as the side thrashed the current leader Brann with 4:0 scoreline on the road. Thus, the forthcoming hosts are only one step away from the top zone where last season’s silver medalists are striving to get in. After such a glorious victory, collecting three points at the home stadium seems to be quite a real task to fulfill. Ole Gunnar Solskaer brought the club to its first champion’s title and has been ruling the team for seven years already since then. Despite tough start of the season, his side looks better than its opponent. Molde has conceded only six goals at their own field which is one of the best results in Eliteserien (together with Tromso and Rosenborg), having scored 18 goals instead which is quite an impressive result speaking in favour of upcoming hosts.

In their turn, Valerenga managed to earn only one home triumph with the minimal score over Lillestrom in last five encounters conducted. Having lost 3:0 to Rosenborg in Trondheim, the team also failed to beat weak Bodo/Glimt and deserved 2:2 draw at its own turf. “The Bohemians” have one the most impressive away records. However, at a closer look, the visitors are doing not so great as they have conceded 12 goals in eight away tackles. It’s quite too much for a club which tends to settle at high positions in the Eliteserien table. Valerenga are far not the poorest side of Eliteserien, however, they have not succeeded in not a single clash out of five away games against the rivals from the higher part of the table, having conceded 11 goals. The teams conceded at least two goals in four out of five fights conducted on the road were. Thus, I don’t believe that the visitors will be able to hold on Molde, particularly, after three goals conceded from Rosenborg.
Ole Gunnar Solskaer has no problems with the line-up unlike his opponent who will not be able to count for the main midfielder. Valerenga have not managed to beat Molde across last four head-to-heads in a row. After the draw gained in the previous round, Molde has excellent chances for celebrating victory in the forthcoming encounter and further climbing the table.
Prediction for the match: Molde to win.
