Molde take on the visitors Keflavik in the second leg of UEFA Champions League qualification semifinals. First leg result: 1-2. The match will be played on Tuesday, August 15th at Aker Stadion (Molde).
Molde will now focus maximally on the international stage. In 2022, MFK once again proved that they became one of the flagships of Norwegian football by securing their 5th championship title. However, it's clear now that Bodo/Glimt are dominating the Eliteserien, and the holder of the gold has slipped outside the top 3 in the current league table. This gives even more motivation for the Champions League. The qualification, however, started with a loss to HJK Helsinki with a score of 0-1. But an own goal at home helped - it led to the Finns conceding, allowing Molde to level the score again before the end of regular time. Now they need to repeat something similar, as they lost 1-2 in the Faroe Islands.

KI Klaksvik have managed to surprise a couple of times in this qualification. The Blue and Whites are currently dominating at the national level. It's enough to say that in the current competition, they have a perfect record, having won all 16 matches. So, they can shift their focus to the Champions League, especially since their performance there has been quite impressive. It seemed that the Faroese team would be eliminated by their first opponent, Ferencvaros. However, after a draw at home, they defeated the Hungarian team coached by Cherchesov 3-0 in Budapest (and immediately after that, Stanislav Salamovich resigned). They also advanced past Hacken, although their matches included combative draws at home and away, going into extra time, and only in a penalty shootout they managed to beat the Swedes. They also handled other Scandinavians at home, Molde, with Frederiksberg scoring another double. However, a 2-1 lead doesn't guarantee anything.
In 2003, the teams played in the UEFA Cup qualification. On both occasions, the Norwegians were stronger. Molde will be an undisputed favorite at home. However, Klaksvik are quite capable, so let's go with the neutral total over 2.5 goals.
Prediction for the match: Over 2.5 handicap.
