Mjondalen FC represents the city where bandy is more popular. It is an exotic sport in the form of field hockey, but on ice. In 2014-2016 Odd won bronze medals twice and managed to reach the cup final. But then the Black-and-Whites gradually turned into one of the middle peasants of the Eliteserien. Yes, in 2019 they managed to draw attention to themselves after taking the 4th final position. But then there was a drop to the 7th line, at the time of the suspension of the competition. The new draw brought a pretty tough start, with two points scored in three matches. And the long-awaited victory (over the leader and champion, Bodo/Glimt) was followed by the defeat to Kristiansund and a draw against Valerenga. And Odd managed to gain momentum only in the summer. The team won both last games in the current championship of Norway. First, Brann was beaten 1-3 away, and last Thursday the Black-and-Whites managed to defeat Tromso. In these fights, Mushaga Bakenga scored a hat-trick (one goal from the penalty spot) and a brace. In total, the 28-year-old striker has already scored eight goals in eight matches (three of them from the spot).
Odd has won all three recent head-to-head matches. Moreover, in the last one, the team conceded already in the 4th minute but hammered Mjondalen with a 6-1 score. Then Bakenga also scored a brace. Now a slight advantage is given to Mjondalen, who plays at home. But Odd got in good shape in June, and we will venture to believe in the victory of the visitors with a zero handicap.
