Manchester United hosts Granada CF in the second leg of the Europa League quarterfinals. The match will be played on Thursday, April 15th at Old Trafford (Manchester)
Manchester United has not lost four of its last five matches in all tournaments. The only failure has happened in the FA Cup quarterfinals (a 1-3 defeat to Leicester). However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team won in the remaining four cases, including two away games in the Europa League. Manchester United beat Milan in the return leg of the 1/8 finals (0-1) and dealt with Granada CF in the quarterfinals (0-2). Interestingly, in the first stage of the knockout rounds, Manchester United did not concede in the away match, beating Real Sociedad with a score of 4-0. I will add that the Red Devils have invariably scored in eight matches in a row.

Granada is not having the best period of the season. After a home win over Molde in the first leg of the Europa League 1/16 finals, the Spanish club has lost four consecutive matches. And if Granada managed to score in the lost matches versus Molde and Valencia (twice 1-2), then the Nasrids didn’t upset the opponents’ goalkeepers in the next two games. The team lost to Villarreal (0-3) and Manchester United (0-2). And Granada managed to break its unsuccessful streak only in the next LaLiga match against Valladolid (2-1). I will add that the Nasrids have conceded in five matches in a row.
In the first leg, Manchester United dominated in many respects, but most importantly, the Red Devils converted their chances better. Like the Spaniards, they delivered three shots on target, but not a single shot of the hosts brought profit. Beyond that, Manchester United controlled the game (65% vs 35% in terms of ball possession), shot on goal a little more often (13 shots against 11), and made more passes (529 against 251 for Granada). It looks like Granada's Europa League tale is coming to an end. In the first two knockout rounds, the Spaniards achieved a comfortable advantage in the first legs (2-0 against Napoli and Molde) and managed to keep it in return matches (1-2 defeats). But the Nasrids are unlikely to succeed against Manchester United. The Red Devils conceded only one goal in five knockout matches of the Europa League this season. Even in spite of the absence of Maguire and Shaw, the defense of the hosts is able not to concede from the impudent upstart.
Prediction for the match: Manchester United to win with +0.5 handicap and Both teams to score - no
