Manchester City hosts Leicester in round 37 of English Premier League. The match will be played on Monday, May 6th at Etihad Stadium (Manchester)
The Citizens most recently lost points in the Premier League in January - it was an unexpected defeat to Newcastle (1: 2). Thereafter, the men of Pep Guardiola gained 13 consecutive victories in the home arena, which is a fantastic achievement. However, this is enough to become a champion by now - Liverpool also doesn’t lose points and continues to claim golden awards. Two rounds before the end of the season, the Citizens are ahead of the Reds by 1 point.

In April, Manchester City flew from the Champions League in a dramatic fight; the Citizens lost to Tottenham. This battle will certainly go down in history of the tournament. If in the first game in London everything was dull enough (the Spurs won 1-0), then in the second one, everything was incredibly interesting. In the 21st minute of the return game, the Citizens won with a 3: 2 score. In the second half, the teams still scored one goal each, and this score was okay with Londoners. But in the 94th minute, the Citizens scored the fifth goal. The judge counted it but canceled after watching the video replay. Surely, the Guardiola’s men were upset after that defeat; however, there is no time to grieve, because they can miss the second trophy. In the last round, the Citizens played away against Burnley and managed to win with a 1: 0 score. The men of Sean Dyche have already guaranteed themselves a place in the Premier League, so the team did not feel the psychological burden in that meeting.
In fact, the Foxes have already finished their season. The thing is that they were in the middle of the standings throughout the whole championship, and they cannot get out of there. After 36 games played, Leicester has 51 points in the asset, which allows them to be in 8th place. Recently, it seems that Brendan Rogers’ men are playing at their pleasure. This can be said by their results: an incomprehensible home defeat to Newcastle and away defeat to Huddersfield.
The ending of the season for the Foxes is wild without exaggeration: Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea. All these three teams are incredibly motivated: the Citizens are fighting for the champion’s title, and London clubs are trying to jump into the Champions League zone. However, no one guaranteed the easy life to stalwarts - in the first round, when Leicester was still playing under the management of Claude Puel, the Pensioners and the Citizens were beaten. Despite the lack of motivation, in the first game against Arsenal, Leicester managed to profile itself and show one of the best matches of the season. In the first half, the Gunners remained in the minority - Maitland-Niles received the second yellow card, but in the second half, the Foxes literally destroyed the stalwart. Leicester won with a 3: 0 score, while the victory was well deserved (Leicester had an advantage in possession of the ball - 67%, and in shots on goal - 24-6).
In the first leg match, Leicester won the Citizens with a 2:1 score. The game took place in December, when Guardiola’s players got hooked a bit a, losing 3 out of 4 matches. Manchester City was the first to score in that game, but the Foxes managed to change the course of the game. Thus, Leicester managed to break the losing streak against the Citizens, which consisted of 5 meetings.
Prediction for the match: Manchester City to win with – 2.0 handicap
