West Ham take on the visitors Leeds in the round 37 match of English Premier League. The match will be played on Sunday, May 21st at Etihad Stadium (Manchester).
The focus of The Citizens has been largely on the Champions League. It's well-known that winning this competition has been an obsession for the project under the current Middle Eastern owners, even before Guardiola's arrival, and it was precisely for this reason that Pep was called here. They recently had a real battle against Real Madrid. Prior to that, the English team comfortably progressed through the group stage and made it to the playoffs by defeating RB Leipzig from Germany and then the prestigious Bayern Munich. It's worth noting that in the Round of 16 and quarterfinals, they also had 1-1 draws in away matches. The same scoreline was repeated in Madrid, thanks to an excellent strike by De Bruyne from outside the penalty area. At home, the titleholders convincingly defeated their opponents 4-0. They faced some challenges at their home ground, but everything is pointing towards another golden double. Ahead of them is the cup final, or rather, the derby against United. In the Premier League, everything was decided in April, with a decline in form from their competitor, Arsenal, culminating in a 4-1 victory in their head-to-head match. Going forward, the main task for Holland and his teammates was to avoid any missteps.

Chelsea have been the main disappointment of this season. Moreover, they are already de facto in the next, or at least mentally in the upcoming summer transfer window. In such circumstances, it's difficult to perceive Lampard as an interim coach, even though he initially came (or rather, returned to his hometown club) only until the summer – everyone already sees him as a full-fledged manager in London, possibly Pochettino. However, this does little to calm the atmosphere amidst this resounding failure. The relative positive in 2023 was the strong comeback against Borussia Dortmund in the Round of 16, winning 2-0 at home after a narrow defeat in Germany. However, that was under Potter, while the subsequent Super Frank had no chance against Real Madrid. Like their other opponents, they started with six consecutive losses. It was only against an unmotivated Bournemouth in May that they managed to turn the tide and secure a victory. Finally, they settled for a draw against a more serious Nottingham Forest with a score of 2-2 at home. However, the Blues have long lost their chances of even qualifying for European competitions, so they are simply enduring a shameful season.
In 2021, the Blues defeated the Citizens in the Champions League final. Since then, Guardiola has consistently won in their subsequent five encounters, including knocking the Blues out of both domestic cups and securing a 1-0 victory in the Premier League. Only the hosts can prevent themselves from winning this match. We bet that this won't happen. A result as impressive as against Real Madrid might not occur, but we confidently take the handicap in favor of The Citizens with a -1.5 goal advantage.
Prediction for the match: Manchester City to win with -1.5 handicap.
