Malta welcome the visitors Spain in the Euro Qualification – Round 2. The match will be held on Tuesday, March, 26th, at the Ta’Qali National Stadium (Ta’ Qali).
The hosting Malta started their Euro qualification campaign with a win. They defeated the Faroe Islands by a scoreline of 2:1. So, the ‘Falcons’ presently top the table (their fans must have taken the pictures of it!). Apparently, the Malta national team are among a few small nation sides that improved not only in terms of their defense but in their attacking line as well. They’ve been scoring practically in each fixture now. And they allow not much, compared to other teams of their caliber. In the Russian World Cup qualification, they missed only 25 goals in 10 rounds, that is, they leak under 3 goals per match on average. Not surprisingly, the team feel more confident playing on their turf. Considering the outright crisis the visiting Spain are currently in, this game’s hosts may avoid a hammering tomorrow.

The Spaniards apparently undergo some recession; not that serious to doubt their win over Malta though. The team’s first qualifier against Norway turned very tough, and it was a challenge for them to defeat the opponents. Spain attained a win over the frugal Scandinavians only on the 71st minute thanks to the penalty, 2:1. It is a luck for the ‘La Furia Roja’ to feature such an easy group during this hard period: no matter how much they may fail, they will qualify anyways. If anyone asked us, what seems more feasible: the Spaniards’ win over Malta by a scoreline of 5:0 or the hosts’ win with a +4.0 handicap, we would choose the latter, as we don’t count much on Spain’s assertive wins so far.
Our bet is on Malta’s +4.0 handicap. No goal-fest by the visitors is expected – they will possibly succeed by a margin of 2 or 3 goals, not more.
Prediction for the match: Malta to win with a +4.0 handicap.
