Malmo take on the visitors MOL Vidi at the Swedbank Stadion in the first leg match of UEFA Champions League third qualification round. The match will be played in the eponymous city Malmo on Tuesday, August 7th.
Malmo are the only Swedish team who haven`t got knocked out in the previous qualifying rounds this season and still represent their country on the European scene. Their Allsvenskan colleagues AIK and Djurgardens have unfortunately left the Europa League qualification recently. However, the Sky Blues did not outshine those teams in their matches. They beat Cluj in the second qualifying round wth a real struggle (1-1, 1-0). By the way Malmo were embarrassed in the UEFA Champions League third qualification round last season when they lost to Vardar (1-1, 1-3).

MOL Vidi are quite an underappreciated team. In the first qualification round the ream had beaten Dudelange (1-1, 2-1) and in the second qualification round they beat a very strong team Ludogorets (0-0, 1-0). The defensive line of the Vidi looked great in the both matches against the Bulgarians.
Interestingly last season MOL Vidi were able to knock Bordeaux out from the UEFA Europa League qualification (1-0, 1-2). It will be very hard for Malmo to play against MOL Vidi.
