Luton take on the visitors Arsenal in the round 15 match of English Premier League. The match will be played on Tuesday, December 5th at
Luton have almost forgotten when they last played at the highest level of English football. They maintained their top-flight status for a full decade and even won a trophy in the form of a cup. However, after relegation in 1992, a new ascent only happened now, on the second attempt, under Rob Edwards. The play-offs last year ended with a hard-fought victory. It seemed that the virtual Premier League debutant would be the main underdog. Their objective potential should not be overestimated. However, there are plenty of other underdogs, and the newcomer first, on the fifth attempt, managed to secure their first draw in the Premier League after consecutive defeats (against Wolverhampton) and then immediately secured a victory (against Everton). They later added points through draws with Nottingham Forest and even Liverpool (with the Reds leveling in the 90+ minutes). They concluded the fall with a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace. However, after that, there was Brentford, and they suffered a defeat with little chance, 1-3.

Arsenal are clearly determined to stay at the top. The Gunners lost their place in the top four in Britain even during Wenger's era. They only returned to the quartet of leaders last season, finishing in 2nd place and contending for more until the middle of spring. Their return to the Champions League was quite good – yes, they stumbled against Lance, but won everything else, including a resounding victory against the French in the last round. They managed to defeat Dutch PSV and Sevilla twice. A slight disappointment at home was the defeat to neighboring West Ham in the League Cup. However, they started the season by beating Manchester City in the Super Cup – equalizing in the final minutes and winning in a penalty shootout. Later in the fall, among other achievements, they dealt with both City and, taking advantage of Guardiola's team drawing with Liverpool, Zinchenko and company even rose to 1st place at the end of autumn. They held onto it, even increasing their lead, securing a victory over Wolverhampton.
The sides last played each other in 1991, exchanging victories on their respective home fields. The Hatters do not seem like a serious problem for the leader of the competition. We bet that the Gunners will win with a handicap of -1.5 goals scored.
Prediction for the match: Arsenal to win with -1.5 handicap.
