Lokomotiv Plovdiv hosts Etar in round 25 of Bulgarian Parva Liga. The match will be played on Friday, June 5th at Stadion Lokomotiv (Plovdiv)
Lokomotiv Plovdiv is temporarily occupying the second position of the Bulgarian First League because three teams have the same number of points (46). After a pause of almost three months, Bulgarian Lokomotiv played a friendly match with the club that has approximately the same level as Etar and won with a 2:0 score. It was rather strange since friendly matches of Bulgarian teams quite often end with an abundance of goals, and regular matches of the first league, on the contrary, often end with low scoring. Despite the ambitions of Lokomotiv, nine out of ten last meetings ended with Under 2.5 goals scored, and only one recorded exactly four goals. Under current quarantine conditions, Lokomotiv Plovdiv has no reason to show off in front of empty stands and give all its best, so I expect 1-2 goals from the team.

Etar is a team that started the season poorly, but then it found a suitable tactic of a deterrent game and began to earn one point quite regularly. The last matches of the First League mainly ended in a draw with a score of 1:1. If we look at the last nine games, four goals were scored only in the match with the full outsider of the league (due to the terrible defense of the opponent) and, accordingly, eight games ended with Under 3.5 goals scored. Of course, Etar understands that it will be difficult to gain a draw with rather strong Lokomotiv Plovdiv. However, it is very likely that the club will deter any attacks of the opponent to the maximum without even scoring a goal. Accordingly, a dry victory of the hosts with a difference of 1-2 goals will be the likeliest end of the match.
Having assessed the attacking abilities of the teams during the season, I don’t expect many goals in the upcoming match. Don’t forget about the pause of about 2-3 months, the poor performance of the Bulgarian First League, as well as the absence of spectators in the stands. Bookmakers offer very low coefficients on scoring, assuming that Lokomotiv Plovdiv will run headlong to smash an opponent. However, such an outcome rarely happens in the regular championship. The fans will probably see a relatively viscous game with a small number of goals. The hosts must gain a shutout victory. And I don’t think that the match will be rich in goals.
Prediction for the match: Under 4.0 goals scored
