Liverpool take on the visitors Red Star Belgrade at the Anfield in the Round 3 of the UEFA Champions League Group C. The match will be played in the eponymous city Liverpool on Wednesday, October 24th.
Even though Liverpool had looked excellent in the start of the new season they started failing with time. Before the pause due to the international fixtures they were on a big failing streak consisting of multiple draws and losses. After the pause, the Reds had to face the humble Huddersfield Town in their local Premier League and showed quite a poor performance against them. Even though the Terries had conceded a lot of goals in their previous Premier League fixtures they conceded only one goal from the team of Jurgen Klopp. Now it is hard to predict what is going to happen for Liverpool in their upcoming fixture against Red Star Belgrade. A month ago everyone would have predicted the Reds to win with a 5-0 score or something like that. Now it is hard to tell because of the recent performance of the Reds against Huddersfield Town. In their last three matches Liverpool beat Huddersfield Town with a 1-0 score, drew against Manchester City with a 0-0 score and lost to Napoli with a 0-1 score in their UEFA Champions League Group C fixture. In the 1/16-finals of the Carabao Cup they lost to Chelsea with a 1-2 score.

The best thing Red Star Belgrade have been doing recently has been their defensive play. One could deny that with the fact of them losing to Paris Saint-Germain with a 1-6 score last round but Les Parisiens had one of the strongest offensive lines in the world. Thereby it was literally unreal for the Zvezda to get a positive result against them. Now the Serbians are likely to lean on their defensive line in their upcoming Round 3 game against Liverpool too. They also did the same thing in the Round 1 of the group stage against Napoli and managed to draw against them with a 0-0 score in the end in front of their home crowd. The task for the team of Vladan Milojevic will be a little harder on Wednesday though because the offense of the Reds will be more dangerous than the offense of Napoli for them. Furthermore, the hosting side will try to rehabilitate before their fans after their poor performance against Huddersfield Town last weekend and will try to score several goals. Thereby it will be very hard for the Crveno-Beli to get any points in the Round 3. In their last three matches overall Red Star Belgrade beat Rad Belgrad with a 3-1 score, Dinamo Vranje with a 2-0 score in the 1/16-finals fixture of the Serbian Cup and Dinamo Pancevo with a 10-0 score in a friendly fixture.
Liverpool are likely to keep their goal safe in their Round 3 fixture against Red Star Belgrade. It is hard to predict how many goals the Reds will manage to score but it is quite clear though that they will not allow goals from the Zvezda on Wednesday. The offensive line of the team of Vladan Milojevic is not that strong to score against the team of Jurgen Klopp at the Anfield.
Prediction for the match: Red Star Belgrade to score under 0.5 goals.
