Legion takes on the visitors Levadia in the round 15 match of Estonian Miestrliiga. The match will be played on Tuesday, May 24th at Kadrioru Staadion (Tallinn).
The Legion has fallen into a fight for survival this season. "Legionnaires" were founded in 2008, on the basis of a couple of little-known metropolitan projects. But the new project also played for a long time at the level of 2-3 divisions of Estonia, which is modest in terms of football. And it was only in 2020 that they managed to make my debut in the Meistriliga. The newcomer took a rather comfortable, 7th place, and in the last draw they managed to close the top five at all. Now, frankly, little is being done, the team has fallen to the very bottom of the standings, starting with a 9-match streak with 4 draws and 5 losses. Then, however, something started to work out - Vaprus and Trans were beaten at home. Yes, and on Wednesday there was at least a draw with Vaprus - now any point is valuable.

Levadia is clearly determined to defend the championship status. "White-green" - 10-time winner of the "gold" of Miestrliiga. But after 2014, for a long time it was not possible to rise to the 1st place again, the maximum was limited to the vice-championship. And only in the last drawing, the capital club was able to overtake its main competitor, Flora. As a result, the gap after 32 rounds was minimal: 78 points against 77. And now, most likely, the season will follow an identical scenario. Now the coaching tandem of Vladimir Vasiliev and Marko Savic is working with the club, and they provide a good result. But still, Flora is at least no worse. Even after they managed to put the squeeze on Nõmme Kalja on the road and continue their winning streak, Levadia is still in 2nd place - with equal points, the competitors played 1 match less.
In total, 8 head-to-heads were played between the clubs, and only once, at the end of the last championship, the Legion was able to snatch at least a draw.
