Las Palmas have quite often played in the top division throughout their history. However, in the early 2000s, there were even years they had to spend in the third level of Spanish football. Getafe have once again become Pepe Bordalas's team. In the mid-2010s, during their previous stint in Segunda, the Blues appointed Jose Bordalas as their head coach for the first time. Their peak was associated with his work when they almost secured the 4th place, a Champions League spot in La Liga, and performed well in the UEFA Europa League playoffs. When the coach decided to try himself at Valencia, the club immediately plummeted to the level of a relegation fighter. Bordalas, including himself, saved them from demotion to Segunda, returning to the position in the midst of the last season. Currently, there is no talk of any similar threats, and Getafe feels quite confident. Although they can't fully regain lost positions or seriously compete for at least the Europa League, they have managed to secure a place in the middle of the La Liga standings, almost undefeated since late September. After dealing with Almeria in a determined style, they even climbed to the 8th position, although there is a 5-point gap to the nearest neighbor, Real Betis.
The last time these teams played in La Liga was during the 2017/2018 season. Getafe managed to win both matches. The hosts are considered favorites in this pair. However, the visitors from the outskirts of Madrid are currently in good form, so it's worth betting that they will at least avoid defeat on Friday – taking X2.
