Israel take on the visitors Switzerland in the postponed match of round 7 of group stage of UEFA Euro-2024 qualification. The match will be played on Wednesday, November 15th at Pancho Arena (Felcsút).
Israel had a reasonably good qualification campaign and aimed to qualify for the Euro, which would have been their first qualification for a major tournament after the forced "move" under UEFA. By September, they had won half of the played matches, 3 out of 6, and collected 7 points. Then, football took a back seat for a while. However, life goes on, and UEFA, after coronavirus force majeure and the war in Ukraine, quickly learned to change the schedule. In the end, all the remaining matches for the Israelis had to be played in a format de facto resembling Euro matches, playing on the third day after the previous game. This stretch began on a Sunday with a match against Kosovo in Pristina. Despite conceding, they couldn't respond and ended up losing.

Switzerland may not be as strong as everyone is used to, but it should be enough. Under the previous coach, Vladimir Petković, the "Nati" grew into a team of the "second tier" of European football, becoming regulars not only in tournaments but also in playoff rounds. The team was so well organized that the coaching change after the last Euro looked painless. Under Murat Yakin, the Swiss outperformed Italy in the World Cup qualification and progressed from the group stage in Qatar. However, they faced a heavy defeat against the Portuguese with a score of 1-6 in the first knockout round. In the new qualification, the favorite started with three wins but then managed to let Romania come back from 0-2, starting from the 89th minute, and conceded a 2-2 draw against Kosovo in the 94th minute. The biggest embarrassment could have happened in October when they were trailing 1-3 at home against Belarus, but they managed to salvage a draw.
Four times, during the World Cup 2006 and 2010 qualifications, they recorded draws. Only in March did Yakin's wards beat their opponent 3-0 at home. The nominal hosts are fatigued, and Switzerland is undoubtedly not weaker than Kosovo. We recommend betting on a victory for the "Neutral" with a handicap of "-1.0 goals."
Prediction for the match: Switzerland to win with -1.0 handicap.
