Internazionale welcome the visitors Lazio in the Coppa Italia – Quarter-finals. The match will be held on Thursday, January 31st, at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (San Siro) (Milan).
The 1/8 Coppa Italia final sees a clash of the two Serie A heavyweights, Internazionale and Lazio. The match will be held at the renowned Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (San Siro), which, certainly, gives some advantage to the hosting Inter. In the last-round Serie A encounter, the welcoming team lost in Turin, not to the present champions Juventus but to the more frugal Torino – Inter failed even to find the net then. They also did not score in the last-but one round – Sassuolo kept their goal locked. Now Inter face the cup fixture; the team take the tournament very serious, which is actually clear from their last 1/16 final encounter against Benevento wherein they played mostly by their main squad. The manager rotated the keeper only that time; tomorrow, Inter welcome the much more qualified side, so, Spalletti will hardly experiment with his men. In our view, the hosts will score their goal, but their defense is unpromising.

In the last Serie A round, the visiting ‘Eagles’ conceded to Juventus, but the scoreline was pretty unfair, as Lazio did not deserve a loss for sure. The ‘Eagles’ controlled the game, but the ‘Old Lady’’s expertise and their footballers’ individual performance played their role, and Juventus managed to exceed the plan and win, while a draw would have been a great outcome at that time. ‘Lazio’ lost in yet two consecutive matches, but they competed against the Naples and Turin outfits – the first and the second league contenders, respectively. That said, in each meeting, the ‘Eagles’ succeeded to net, moreover, in the clash with Juve, they fashioned many opportunities apart from the moment of scoring to the ‘Lady’. Take, for example, the outstanding Immobile’s opportunity – a forward of his class was destined to score, but he was unlucky to do so. The team’s potential is obvious though.
Either side will certainly make a goal tomorrow. Both are very ambitious as far as the Italian Cup is concerned, as in the last stages, Spalletti and Inzaghi played with their main squads. We’ll go for the Both teams to score!
Prediction for the match: Both teams to score.
