Inter take on the visitors Sassuolo in the round 6 match of Italian Serie A. The match will be played on Wednesday, September 27th at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (San Siro) (Milan).
The Nerazzurri are starting their third season under the guidance of Simone Inzaghi. In both of the previous seasons, they won the national Cup and Super Cup - twice each. Additionally, the Italians performed admirably in the Champions League, even reaching the final last cycle and giving the clear favorite, Manchester City, a tough challenge, losing narrowly. However, in Serie A, compared to the Conte era, the Nerazzurri lost ground, which cost them the Scudetto - and the financial resources are nowhere near what they used to be. They had to overhaul the core of the team almost by half - many leaders from Handanović to Džeko left. However, this version of the team is quite promising. The Italians managed to avoid defeat against Real Sociedad in the first round of the Champions League in San Sebastián. In Serie A, they started with a winning streak, including a 5-1 victory in the Milan derby. They also managed to overcome Empoli, albeit with a minimum score of 1-0.

Sassuolo continue to underwhelm. The Neroverdi were contenders for European competitions under De Zerbi. However, Roberto couldn't elevate his team to the top and settled for 8th place twice. His successor, Alessio Dionisi, couldn't maintain that level and, in fact, has seen a slow decline. They finished 11th at first, and in the last season of the Italian championship, they ended up in 13th place. This season is not particularly impressive either. While they practically had to force Berardi to stay, as he had already agreed to join Juventus and even refused to play for Neroverdi, they made some interesting signings, including Castillejo. However, they started the season with a win against Cosenza in the cup and, quite unexpectedly, against Verona in the league, while losing to Atalanta, Napoli, and even newcomers Frosinone. What makes their victory over Juventus even more sensational is that it included own goals in both nets.
Sassuolo managed to win in February last year. But in the other 5 recent head-to-head matches, including both last season in Serie A, Inter came out on top. The Nerazzurri are indeed strong, and it's unlikely that the Neroverdi will pull off a second consecutive sensation. We recommend betting on a victory for the Milanese giants with a handicap of -1.5 goals.
Prediction for the match: Inter to win with -1.5 handicap.
