Holstein Kiel was very close to making last season a triumphant one. But first the team was knocked out of the cup in the semifinals, but it was already a clear breakthrough and a historical record. The coach is the same (Ole Werner), and the team has not changed much. But in the opening away match against St. Pauli, the Storks created practically nothing. Previously, Schalke did not cross paths with Holstein Kiel in official matches, as they played in different divisions. But they held a couple of friendly games in 2011 and 2016. The Miners won both times, and the matches were rich in goals. Holstein is considered the favorite as the host of the upcoming game, but the pair looks almost equal.
