Ghana take on the visitors Switzerland in a friendly international match. The match will be played on Thursday, November 17th.
Ghana leave a rather controversial impression. On the one hand, there have been a hell of a dozen games played this calendar year. And the victories were only in 2, with Madagascar in the summer and in the last, friendly match, with Nicaragua. The national team failed the African Cup of Nations. There were defeats to Morocco and even to debutant Comoros, with a draw against Gabon - of course, this did not allow them to qualify for the playoffs. On the other hand, the main goal of the 4th anniversary has been achieved: Ghana returns to the World Cup. In 2010, the Black Stars made it to the quarterfinals (where they lost dramatically to Uruguay due to missed penalties), however, later, in 2014, without leaving the group. The confrontation with Nigeria was decisive, where the away goals rule decided everything: 0-0 at home, 1-1 away. Now, obviously, it will be important not to win - Otto Addo and his coaching staff have players to check.

Switzerland changed their coach, but more or less retained its level. Petkovic's long era ended last summer when the Euro quarter-finals were reached, knocking out World Cup winners France in the first round of the play-offs and only losing on penalties. Murat Yakin became the new coach, and the first chapter at this position was excellent. The “neutrals” managed to leave behind Italy itself, the victorious Euro, and made it to the World Cup directly (but the “Scuadra Azzurra” managed to fail at the joints, also losing to North Macedonia in March). Here in the League of Nations, the Nati had problems, they failed the 1st round there. But even there it turned out to begin the transformation already in June. As a result, the Swiss were able to consistently win against the Czech Republic, and against Spain and Portugal. At a minimum, this made it possible to avoid relegation from Division A. At the same time, they managed to strengthen faith in themselves and own strengths again.
Ghana is considered one of the leaders in African football. But neither at the world championships, nor in test fights, they had never crossed paths against the Swiss before. Bookmakers believe that nominal hosts are noticeably weaker than competitors from Europe. But it is obvious that this is more training with some kind of increased responsibility. So it’s better to stop at the offer in the form of “less than 2.5 goals”.
Prediction for the match: Under 2.5 scored goals.
