Since 2010, FK Crvena Zvezda has been sponsored by Gazprom. The Russian mega-company provided the legendary club with an incredible budget by local standards. Not surprisingly, there has been no championship intrigue in Serbia in recent years. Moreover, the club from Belgrade has performed well in European competitions several times. On the international stage, there was a failure in the Champions League (elimination in the qualification from Omonia), but in the Europa League, Crvena Zvezda lost to Milan only by a goal difference in the 1/16 finals.
