In the return quarterfinal match of the Conference League, the local favorites Fiorentina host Poznan's Lech. How will the Italians perform against the Poles at the Artemio Franchi? Fiorentina picked up momentum this spring. Under Vincenzo Italiano, the Viola managed to take 7th place in the previous season, which was enough to finally return to European competitions, albeit in the humblest format of the tournament, the Conference League. In the Conference League, after struggling through the qualification and starting the group stage with only one point in the first two rounds, the Italians went on to win all their matches, including those in the playoffs against Braga and Sivasspor. They also managed to win convincingly in Poland.

Lech (Poznan) has also shown themselves well. The Railwaymen regained their championship title last season, for the first time since 2015. Now they can only hope for a maximum of 3rd place in the Ekstraklasa - the eternal favorite, Legia, and the unexpected leader, Rakow, have pulled too far ahead. But in the Conference League, they started in July (starting with a win against Dinamo Batumi) and made it to the quarterfinals. However, in the playoffs, van den Brom's men were lucky to face Scandinavians, and first knocked out Norwegian Bodo/Glimt, and then Swedish Djurgarden. This allowed them to travel to Italy in April, but after a 1-4 loss at home, the visit to Florence becomes almost a tourist trip.
Surprisingly, the teams managed to play each other back in 2015, also in the Europa League. They both ended up in Group I and exchanged away wins. The Viola are unlikely to want and be able to crush their opponent again. But Lech is unmotivated too - we bet on the hosts with a "-1.5 goals" handicap.
