Feyenoord take on the visitors PSV in the Dutch Supercup. The match will be played on Friday, August 4th at De Kuip (Rotterdam).
Feyenoord finally achieved their main success. The Pride of the South are not considered the main local grand. Nevertheless, they had enough trophies, and their list of achievements was finally supplemented - the bet on Arne Slot, made several years ago, finally paid off. This is their 16th gold, but only the 2nd in this century (prior to that, they reached the top of Eredivisie in 2017). Of course, unlike the last time, they want to stay in the 1st place. To achieve this, they tried to strengthen their squad during the summer. However, it's not clear how to replace the midfield leader Kekcu, as Orkun himself wanted to move to Lisbon, and the Dutch couldn't refuse after receiving a 25-year-old offer from Benfica. Possibly, they consider Stengs as a replacement, who scored a golden double for Antwerp last season and, since he belonged to Nice, moved to Rotterdam for a frankly modest half-million.

PSV is betting on an ex-Ajax coach. Peasants, despite their nickname, are actually more successful, historically, than their arch-enemy. In Eindhoven, they celebrated the championship 26 times, including in 2018. However, they couldn't return to the 1st place after that. Ruud van Nistelrooy couldn't make his proteges Eredivisie leaders, but he still achieved quite a lot: a resounding victory over Ajax in Amsterdam in the Super Cup and overall decent results. But the cup at the end of the season was won by the interim coach, Rutten. And in the summer, the post was given to Peter Bos, who was decent at Ajax but left a rather negative impression abroad. They also have new signings for more than 10 million euros - Lang and Pepe. However, there were also losses; for example, PSV bought out Simons and immediately loaned him to RB Leipzig.
Last season was not dull: 4-3 and 2-2. However, PSV came out slightly stronger during those games. Playing at home, Feyenoord will be a clear favorite. But considering the last season, the obvious bet seems to be total over 2.5 goals.
Prediction for the match: Over 2.5 scored goals.
