Fenerbahce take on the visitors Slovacko in the first leg of UEFA Europa League qualification semifinals. The match will be played on Thursday, August 4th at Ülker Stadyumu (Istanbul).
Fenerbahce have already suffered a rather painful setback this summer. The Canaries finished second last season. Slovacko were founded in 2000, though not from scratch - it was a merger of not particularly successful teams. However, after that there were only a few appearances in the cup finals, invariably unsuccessful, and periodic losses of a place in the top division. This did not stop him from repeating the result in the Czech championship. And, most importantly, it finally came out to win the cup, and the first trophy in history. This allowed us to start now in the Europa League, from this qualifying stage.
Until last season, Slovacko played only in the semi-official Intertoto Cup. It is not surprising that in this match they will play for the first time against such a giant as Fenerbahce. Fenerbahce should take into account the lessons learned with Dynamo Kyiv, and Slovacko does not look like an opponent of the same class.
