Famalicao hosts Braga in round 27 of Portuguese Primeira Liga. The match will be played on Friday, June 19th at Estadio Municipal de Famalicao (Vila Nova de Famalicao)
Having shown a perfect start, Famalicao slowed down. But shortly before the forced break caused by the pandemic, it seemed to find a way out of the crisis - in March, Oliveira’s team defeated Sporting at home (3: 1) and tied with quite unyielding Belenenses away (0:0). After the break, Famalicao managed to beat Porto at home (2: 1) and defeated Gil Vicente on the road (1:3), and these results are the best in Primeira if we consider only matches played after the restart of the championship. With these results, Famalicao has good chances of getting into the Europa League zone, which will be an excellent result for the team, especially considering the calendar. Only a match with Benfica can create problems in the matter of scoring points, but the team from Vila Nova may well count on points in other games.

The forced break did not benefit Braga, which suffered two defeats in two games after the resumption. Moreover, it lost to the teams located in the middle of the standings - Santa Clara and Boavista. The lack of playing practice negatively affected the organization of the game in the attack. Braga delivered less than 15 shots on goal only in matches against Glasgow Rangers in the Europa League. If we look at these two matches, the men of Custodio managed to deliver only 12 shots on Santa’s goal (only two were on target), and the match with Boavista ended with even fewer shots (nine, three on target). Beyond that, ball possession in these confrontations was overwhelming - more than 60 percent of the playing time. The competition for places in European cups has intensified, and this decline was very inappropriate. Only four days have passed since the loss to Boavista, and Braga will probably not manage to solve all the game problems in such a short time.
Braga will be forced to go forward since the price of points in this match is high, and this will be beneficial for the players of Famalicao. If the trend concerning shots on target and conversion of these shots continues, the hosts will probably manage to hit the opponents' goal more than once. Famalicao has rather qualified players with experience in the leading European championships - Martinez (West Ham), Racic (Valencia), and Gonçalves (taken from Benfica on loan) will play in the hosts' attacking line. I think Famalicao will manage to score at least once.
Prediction for the match: Famalicao to score over 1.0 goal
