Dynamo Kiev welcome the visitors Olympiakos Piraeus in the Europa League Play-offs – 1/16 Finals. The match will be held on Thursday, February, 21st, at the NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium (Kiev).
Dynamo Kiev drawed against Olympiakos Piraeus in Greece, 2:2, scoring the second goal yet in the end of the match. Notably, the Kiev outfit were in an outstanding form, they played their second match much better than their opponent, especially given that they did not feature official encounters as of the end of December. Domestically, Dynamo are rather confident on their turf – of nine home fixtures, they were victorious seven times. As for the Europa League, they are fine there as well – Dynamo afforded a sluggish play in the last round, as they clearly qualified to the next stage having one spare game. In the group stage, the Ukrainian team held three matches in which they won against Rennes, drawed against Astana, and lost to Jablonec in the last round.
Olympiakos receded somewhat in the second half-time against Dynamo. In the national league, they are second, running behind PAOK who are blistering in this Super Lig. Considering that the Greeks did not manage to gain a victory at home (being happy about the draw in the first leg), we suggest betting against them. The outlook of the second tier in Olympiakos’ group was not clear till the last round wherein the Greeks competed with Milan for progression. In the end, Olympiakos managed to surpass the Italians at home, 3:1. Away, however, the side were not confident at all, suffering two losses out, to Milan and Betis (0:2 and 0:1 respectively); they were victors only in the clash with F91 Dudelange.
We believe the hosts’ win should be bet on. Dynamo’s home run is promising; thus, in our view, they are capable of passing Olympiakos by winning them tomorrow.
