Dudelange hosts Nomme Kalju in the first leg of the Europa League qualification semifinals. The match will be played on Thursday, August 8th at Stade Josy Barthel (Luxembourg)
Dudelange is slowly but confidently approaching its second consecutive getting in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League. On completely legal grounds, it is a favorite in a home match with the Estonian team Nomme Kalju. Indeed, it was Dudelange, which became perhaps the main troublemaker of the last season in the second most important club trophy of the Old World, having managed to present its native country at such a high stage as the group round of European competitions for the first time. The club beat such well-known teams as Polish Legia and Romanian CFR Cluj along the way... But Estonia cannot boast of such an achievement so far! Well, in the current Euro season, Dudelange can boast of the only success in the two-round confrontation with Macedonian Shkendiya in the EL qualification. It lost to the Luxembourg champion on average of two matches (1:2 at home and 1:1 away).

As for Nõmme Kalju, for some amusing coincidence, it also recently met with Macedonian Shkendiya, only under the flag of the Champions League qualification. As you guessed, it quite unexpectedly managed to pass the “seventy-ninths”, sending them to the final “death” in the aforementioned games with Dudelange. Truth be told, then the fairy tale for Kalju quickly ended – it met experienced Scottish Celtic, which prepared two chops from the Balts: first a little bigger at home (5:0), and then not so tasty away (2: 0).
I think that in this kind of derby between the winners of Shkendiya, Dudelange, which is more experienced and successful in European competitions, will prevail!)
Prediction for the match: Dudelange to win
