Dinamo Zagreb hosts Manchester City in round 6 of the Champions League group stage. The match will be played on Wednesday, December 11th at Stadion Maksimir (Zagreb)
In this prediction, I will try to go by a rather primitive, but quite acceptable logic, based on the fact that Dinamo will play, firstly, with not the regular lineup of Manchester City, and, secondly, the English will be unmotivated (I don’t think that any kind of prize money for points means something for City’s billionaire owners). Moreover, the Croatian grandee is currently holding one of the best European cup seasons in its history, claiming to reach the 1/8 finals of the UEFA Champions League for the first time. And Zagreb needs to win, can the team do it? Perhaps, it will happen, but the hosts may well gain at least a draw with the frenzied support of their radical fans, Dinamo has already surprised many with its results in the current Champions League at Maksimir. It defeated the bronze medalist of Italian Serie A, Atalanta (4-0) and almost beat Ukrainian Shakhtar (a 3-3 draw). The team from Donetsk simply miraculously escaped, having won back after a 1-3 score in the last four minutes.

As for the Great and Terrible Manchester City, I can’t say in what mood the British will arrive in Croatia after a home defeat in a very principled derby with Manchester United (1:2). Well, the Citizens already had some problems in the match against Dinamo even at Etihad, having beaten the Croatian team with certain difficulties (2-0). Both goals were scored in the second half (66th and 95th minutes).
I think that Manchester City, which looks rather vulnerable both in the English Premier League (2 defeats + 4 draws in 16 rounds) and in European competitions (2 draws with Shakhtar and Atalanta), may not win in this match with over-stimulated Croats. Finally, I’ll remind you how Josep Guardiola’s men can perform without motivation. For example, they sensationally lost to Basel (1:2) in the 1/8 finals of the last Champions League, having won earlier in Switzerland (4:0).
Prediction for the match: Dinamo Zagreb to win with +0.5 handicap
