CFR Cluj hosts Celtic in the first leg of the Champions League qualification semifinals. The match will be played on Wednesday, August 7th at Stadionul Dr. Constantin Rădulescu (Cluj-Napoca)
Romanian CFR left a good impression in the first two qualifying rounds of the current UEFA Champions League. It managed to eliminate Kazakhstan Astana, which was experienced in European competition, first defeated it 0:1 away and won 3:1 at home. And then Cluj coped with about the same strong Israeli Maccabi Tel Aviv (1:0 at home and 2:2 away). As it is clearly seen, Cluj’s attacking link was by no means dozing. In my opinion, the attack of CFR will not sleep in the confrontation with the Scottish Celtic, since after zeros in the “goals scored” column at home, it can no longer go to the “Celtic country”. In Scotland, it is very difficult to play for almost everyone, including well-deserved grandees, due to the huge pressure of the local stadium.

As for Celtic, it is still difficult to judge its current strength since the White-greens had to play with far from the most status opponents in the person of Bosnian Sarajevo and Estonian Nymme Kalju in the previous rounds... And even then, Neil Lennon's men managed to concede two goals from the first one, winning 3-1 in the Balkans and 2-1 at Celtic Park.
