Oxford United narrowly avoided falling into League 2. The Boys from the Upper Hill once won a fairly prestigious trophy, the League Cup, back in 1986. That was the team's best time when they even played a bit in the top division of the country. However, a couple of decades later, in the 2000s, they fell all the way to the semi-amateur level of the National Conference (the 5th tier of British football). They managed to bounce back from that low point and started a rather confident ascent. A couple of years ago, it even seemed like the club might be aiming for a place in the Championship. But last season, on the contrary, they narrowly avoided relegation from League 1 - they finished 19th out of 24 participants. This August, they had a quite significant confrontation with Cambridge. However, this factor didn't help much: they lost 0-2 without any options.
The only official match was indeed a cup match. In 2014, Oxford won it, by the way, also away. The stronger team is playing at home. Without overthinking, we simply bet that Bristol City will definitely win in this confrontation.
