Bosnia & Herzegovina take on the visitors Slovakia in the round 10 match of group stage of UEFA Euro-2024 qualification. The match will be played on Sunday, November 19th at Bilino Polje (Zenica).
Bosnia and Herzegovina, contrary to the expectations of their fans, failed to pose any significant challenge for the second spot in the Euro 2024 qualifying group. Although the "Yellow-Blues" started the qualification with a convincing victory over Iceland, in the subsequent eight matches, Bosnia and Herzegovina only managed victories against Liechtenstein. Quite insufficient, wouldn't you agree? Slovakia faced defeat in the first match against Luxembourg, suffered two losses to Portugal (0-3 and 0-5), allowed Iceland to take revenge for the initial defeat (0-1), and was convincingly beaten twice by Luxembourg (0-2 and 1-4).

While Luxembourg, Slovakia's competitor for a spot in the Euros, crushed Bosnia and Herzegovina at home in the last round, the "Falcons" dealt with Icelandic "Vikings" on their own turf (4-2). They secured their ticket to Germany for the upcoming major European tournament, the third time in a row for them. Luxembourg indeed became Slovakia's main competitor. In the matches against Luxembourg, Francesco Calzona's team showed discipline, securing a draw (0-0) and a victory (1-0). Iceland and Liechtenstein were defeated twice each, which is logical. In the current Euro qualification, Portugal was the only team to defeat Slovakia, and in both instances, the difference was just one goal (0-1 and 2-3).
The bookmakers' odds for the away team's victory being higher than that for the hosts seem unclear. While Slovakia has already accomplished its task by qualifying for the Euros, making the final match of the qualification essentially a friendly one, Bosnia and Herzegovina has nothing to gain at this point. The "Yellow-Blues" have been winning infrequently lately. Slovakia has only lost to Portugal in the Euro qualification. Currently, there is a significant gap in class between the two teams, as evident from the 10-point difference between the "Dragons" and the "Falcons" in the table. Considering all this, I'm taking the X2 bet and expecting at least the guests not to lose.
Prediction for the match: Slovakia not to lose (X2).
