Bosnia & Herzegovina hosts Montenegro in a friendly international match. The match will be played on Wednesday, June 2nd at Stadion Grbavica (Sarajevo)
Bosnia & Herzegovina gained the last victory at the end of 2019. And the Golden Lilies beat Liechtenstein, which is simply too weak. In last year's Nations League, they scored only two points in six matches against Italy, Poland, and the Netherlands. And, most importantly, the national team of Bosnia lost to Northern Ireland already in the first round of the promotion playoffs (at home on penalties after a 1-1 draw). Of course, the federation changed the coach after such results. Now the team is headed by Ivaylo Petev. But the 45-year-old Bulgarian can boast of only a draw, which was gained in the away match against the Finns thanks to a goal by Stevanovic in the 84th minute. Then Bosnia lost to France at home (0-1) and couldn’t even score against Costa Rica in the friendly game. Edin Dzeko, Pjanic, and other stars were not called this time. Moreover, only five players from the roster have 10 or more matches played for the national team, and the most experienced is goalkeeper Sekic with 34 matches.

Montenegro has never participated in any major tournament. Bosnia played at least at the World Cup. Their neighbors did not even qualify for the playoffs. However, the Brave Falcons scored 13 points and won the Nations League group last autumn, outranking Luxembourg, Cyprus, and Azerbaijan. Moreover, under the leadership of Miodrag Radulovic, the Montenegrins began the new qualification cycle with two victories. Truth be told, they beat the opponents who looked frankly weak (Latvia away and Gibraltar at home). But both opponents managed to score, and the Balts conceded the decisive goal only in the 83rd minute. Norway won 0-1 in Podgorica. Traditionally, Jovetic provided the lion's share of the success in March. Now Stevan will not play, like a ranger of other stars (Marusic, Mugosa, and Vukcevic). However, the Falcons have a more experienced squad, including Savic and Beciraj.
Although the countries are close neighbors, they have played against each other only once. It was a friendly match in 2018, and everything ended in a goalless draw. Bookmakers consider Bosnia to be a favorite of the upcoming game, but the team has not won for a very long time. Montenegro is also not all right in terms of the roster, but let's assume that they do not lose.
Prediction for the match: Montenegro to win with +0.5 handicap
