Bodo/Glimt hosts Kauno Zalgiris in the 1/8 finals of the Europa League qualification. The match will be played on Thursday, August 27th at Aspmyra Stadion (Bodø)
The Lithuanian club Kauno Zalgiris ran into the reigning Norwegian vice-champion at an extremely unfavorable moment for itself. Bode/Glimt is in simply amazing game shape, sweeping everyone out of its way in a very scoring manner. By the way, the Yellow-Blacks scored as many as 53 goals in 15 rounds of their regular season (and this is 3.5 per one meeting). And Kjetil Knutsen's men didn’t leave the field without at least two goals scored in any match of this season! The young, insatiable and interchangeable trinity of junior forwards from Norway and Denmark represented by Kasper Juncker (11 goals in 12 games), Jens Hago (10) and Philip Zinkernagel (9) became a real nightmare for the defense of all the participants of the current Norwegian championship.

As for Kauno, it took 4th place in its last mini-championship (there are only 8 participants in Lithuania), which gave the team the right to qualify for the UEFA Europa League. I must say right away that this team is an ordinary middle peasant. It is very far from the flagships represented by Suduva and the "real" Zalgiris from Vilnius (for example, Kauno was as many as 31 points behind Suduva in the last regular season). Yes, the White-greens seem to look good and impose the fight for the podium on competitors. In any case, the Lithuanian championship is inferior in class to the Norwegian. The squad of the visitors is full of local performers, and it is not clear how the aged French legionnaire Thicot got there. By the way, not so long ago (at the beginning of August), Kauno's defense allowed several failures in a row, having conceded three goals in the Zalgiris derby, three times from Banga and twice from Panevezys.
In my opinion, the impressive leader of the Norwegian Championship, led by its brutal attack, should not have any problems in the match against the modest Lithuanian team. I will recall that it failed the last year's European Cup debut, having lost to Cypriot Apollon (0:4 away and 0:2 at home).
Prediction for the match: Bodo/Glimt to score over 2.0 goals
