Benfica take on the visitors Porto in the round 27 match of Liga Portugal. The match will be played on Friday, April 7th at Estádio da Luz (Lisbon).
Benfica are undoubtedly the best club in Portugal this season. It's not just about the results, but also about the way they play. They have been showing top-level football throughout the season, and they already have a lot of excellent matches under their belt. Their draws with PSG are a testament to this, as Benfica played better in those matches. Even against smaller teams, they have not lost: they defeated Porto, took 4 points from Sporting, and beat Juventus twice. Therefore, it's fair to say that Benfica are the favorites in the upcoming derby.

Porto also performed brilliantly in the Portuguese championship last season, just like Benfica is doing now. They only lost points in a few matches and defeated their main rival twice. However, this season things are not going as well for the "dragons." The losses they suffered in the summer have affected their results. In important matches, they often lack the player capable of getting the desired result. A bright example is their matches with Inter in the Champions League. The "dragons" played at least as well as the Italian grand, but in the end, they failed to progress to the next stage. It's even harder for them to defeat the current Benfica than Inter.
Benfica have only suffered one defeat in regular time in official games this season, and that was during the period when the championship resumed after the World Cup break. They have won eight games in a row since then. It's unlikely that Porto will inflict a second defeat on them as the "dragons" are simply weaker at the moment. The only thing they are capable of doing is scoring goals. In 11 out of the previous 12 meetings, Porto managed to score at least one goal. They failed to break through Benfica's defense in the last game, but there were moments, and a red card in the first half significantly hindered them. Recent results should not discourage Porto because they simply had no luck (1 goal with 4 xG created). They will be focused on defeating Benfica, and they won't be able to leave Lisbon without points if they don't score. It's practically impossible to stop the home team's attack, which has been excellent in all matches this season. And most importantly, Benfica is back to its peak form, performing as powerfully as it did in August and September. Porto simply won't be able to withstand the onslaught of their attack and will likely concede at least one goal. In the end, I expect the score to be 2-1 or 1-1, which allows for a combination bet of 1X+Over 1.5 goals. This bet has been successful in 19 out of 20 of Benfica's home games!
Prediction for the match: Benfica not to lose and over 1.5 scored goals.
