Belarus take on the visitors Kosovo in the round 4 match of UEFA Euro qualification. The match will be played on Monday, June 19th at Szusza Ferenc Stadion (Budapest).
In the previous match of the qualifying cycle, Belarus almost created a mini-sensation and came close to taking points from the much more skillful Israeli national team. But, as they say, "almost" doesn't count. Belarus opened the scoring in the first half and even held the lead until the 85th minute. However, they conceded twice in the final minutes and lost 1-2. It's not worth overestimating Belarus, as they are still not the favorites in the match against Kosovo. But the potential hosts can certainly put up a fight against an opponent of this level. And it's the fight that I expect to see throughout the field. However, goals might be scarce. Belarus has a very weak attack. In fact, in the match against Israel, their only shot on target turned into the sole goal they scored. On the other hand, the national team is capable of defending well.

Kosovo's national team can also play solidly in their own half, as they have demonstrated in the three previous matches of the Euro 2024 qualifying cycle. While the draws against Andorra and Israel were at least result-oriented (both ending 1-1), the match against Romania in the last round of the qualification did not produce any goals. Neither team managed to create a clear scoring opportunity according to xG, and the spectators were left waiting for goals that never came. I don't think the encounter between Kosovo and Belarus will be very high-scoring. In all three previous group matches, Kosovo played under 2.5 goals, and they also settled for a draw against the Faroe Islands (1-1) not long ago.
In the Euro 2024 qualification, Kosovo has only played draws so far, regardless of the level of their opponents. It's possible that a winner won't be determined in this match as well, but I won't bet on the outcome. However, one thing is clear – if you're looking for a match with plenty of dangerous moments and goals, the Belarus-Kosovo clash is not the one to watch. Therefore, I believe it's simply impossible to come up with a bet other than under 2.5 goals for this match. Both teams have significant attacking problems. However, they are capable of playing relatively reliably in defense. Additionally, the match will take place on neutral ground without significant crowd support. I wouldn't rule out either a minimal victory for one of the teams or a draw with few goals. In principle, even a 2-0 result in either direction would suit me. The bet is under 2.5 goals.
Prediction for the match: Under 2.5 scored goals.
