In the end, the representative of Leverkusen settled for a 6th place finish in the final table, so they will only play in the Conference League, and that's if they pass the qualification. It's not surprising that many important players left - Hudson-Odoi, Bakker, Sinkgraven, Demirbay, and most importantly, Diaby, who chose Aston Villa (which paid 55 million). On the other hand, the newcomers are not ordinary: Grujic, Granit Xhaka, Hofmann, Bönisch. Many players made their debut against Toytown in the cup and participated in the 8-0 victory.

RB Leipzig started this season excellently. The Bulls also changed their coach last season, already in the fall. Interestingly, a year earlier Tedesco also came, and that worked out as well. His successor, Rose, repeated everything - he defended the cup trophy and finished behind only a couple of leaders in the Bundesliga, Dortmund's Borussia and Bayern, and in the Champions League, the Germans played in the playoffs again. Nevertheless, a difficult financial situation led to the departure of key players in the summer, albeit mostly for a large sum of money, such as Diallo, Nkunku, Laimer, Szoboszlai, Angelino, André Silva, and Guardiola. They earned a lot from them, especially from the Croatian defender, investing part of the money in newcomers, Zajwald, Sheshko, Baumgartner, Openda, Bitshiabu, Lukéba (plus they loaned Javi Simons and Fabio Carvalho). There were doubts about what this team would show in the end. But, at least, in the Super Cup, Marco Rose's team crushed Bayern thanks to Olmo's hat-trick.
