Austria hosts Israel in round 7 of the Euro qualification. The match will be played on Thursday, October 10th at Ernst Happel Stadion (Vienna)
After a frankly unsuccessful start in the current qualification for EURO 2020, the Austrian national team seemed to come to its senses in further matches, gaining several points in the confrontations with Macedonia, Slovenia, Latvia, and Poland. Still, some negative sediment remains at the mention of the Austrian team, which, for example, unconditionally lost to same Israel within the Canaan with a hockey result of 2:4. It can also be noted that the Alpine Eagles managed to deal confidently only with dubious Macedonians (4:1) and generally dead Latvians (6:0). But the same Slovenes, who are certainly not included in the top names of the Old World, gave a real fight to the men of Franco Foda in Klagenfurt (the Austrians won 1-0 with great difficulty, scoring the only goal at the end of the meeting).

As for Israel, the Jews retain good chances to break into a major international tournament for the first time in their history, confirming this prospect with an away success in the game with Latvia 3-0. I must add that the Israeli team r failed in the current qualification only in the away confrontation with semi-star Poland, which almost everyone in Group G loses. But in other cases, the Blue-whites looked quite worthy in the fight against Slovenia (1:1, 2:3) and Macedonia (1:1).
In my subjective opinion, it will be extremely difficult for Austria (which is not the most stable team) to beat quite strong and super-motivated Israel with a difference of 2 goals. It is no coincidence that the Israelis managed to confidently beat the Austrians in the first round! Finally, I would like to single out striker Eran Zahavi, who has already scored nine goals in the ongoing qualification for the European Championship 2020 (including a hat trick in the game with the Austrians). His name should restrain the legs of the hosts whether they like it or not.
Prediction for the match: Israel to win with +1.5 handicap
