Corinthians completely failed in the group stage of the Copa Libertadores, and they secured third place in the group (and a spot in the South American Cup playoffs) only in the final round. In the Brazilian Serie A, Corinthians' performance is not much better than Atletico Mineiro's, as they have just three points more than the hosts of the upcoming match.
