Ajax welcome the visitors Bayern Munich in the Champions League Group Stage – Round 6. The match will be held on Wednesday, December 12th, at the Johan Cruijff Arena (Amsterdam).
Same as in the ‘90s, Ajax are on the fly and cannot be seen outsiders in the coming clash with Bayern Munich. The Dutch club were very unlucky in the first head-to-head, we should admit. They had to rack up three points in their away match; at home, they can possibly win – Ajax have significantly improved lately, and Bayern have largely receded (facing internal and performance-related problems). The hosts did not concede in their group matches – the group cannot be called too strong though – and missed only two goals. They suffer no problems in the national league. Their only concern is PSV Eindhoven. Why not to transfer from the first place and not to win the Munich team?

As for the latter, do they face a crisis, or is it just a temporary thing? Bayern do not get younger with many of their players performing five or six years back. There were frequent talks about the crisis yet three years back. But the Bundesliga did not seemingly face any problems then. Now it does, which is true of the whole German football, not only the Munich team, in particular. The head coach and the management hear considerable criticism; well, Kovac cannot be considered genius, and he’d better not rotate the players like he does. Also, the team miss an apparent leader, and not all players are comfortable with the Bundesliga itself – its philosophy and vision of play.
Bayern’s latest record is not impressive – there are no smashout victories at all, they miss a lot, and need to start improving with the change of their squad. We believe this will happen in the beginning of the next campaign, not in this transfer window. Ajax are totally fine now, they are on the move, which is enough not to lose at home on Wednesday (at least).
Prediction for the match: Ajax to win or Draw.
