AZ Alkmaar only started their season with only four matches played so far. The team was quite successful in previous round of the qualification, knocking out Greece side Giannina, 1-0, 2-1. On the other hand, the Dutch side showed quite poor results in two starting rounds of Eredivisie, drawing clash with Herenven, 2-2, and losing to PSV, 0-1.
The opponents haven’t faced one another before. Serbian side went that far and no one expected them to battle for the place in the group stage. AZ are more experience and skilled side from much stronger league and deserved to be considered as favorites in two-leg duel.
