Viktoria Plzen take on the visitors Ludogorets in the second leg of Champions League qualifying matchup. The match takes place at Dusan Arena on Tuesday, August 23rd. Bulgarian side have 2-0 lead after the first leg.
Viktoria have quite slow start of the season. The matchup with Qarabag in the previous qualifying round was tough for the team and the place in the final round was gained only due to away goal rule, 0-0, 1-1 with late equalizer in away leg. 0-2 defeat in the first leg against Bulgarian champions came as no surprise and Viktoria didn’t show what they can offer to advance for the group stage. On top of that, Czech side show awful results at own turf, drawing two matches with Qarabag, 0-0, and Bohemians, 1-1, and losing to Zlin, 0-2.

Ludogorets have already eliminated two opponents in previous rounds, beating Mladost Podgorica, 2-0, 3-0, and Crvena Zvezda, 2-2, 4-2. And now they are only one step away from qualifying for the Champions League group stage as they have 2-0 lead in matchup with Plzen side. Ludogorets have intensive pre-season and didn’t struggle in domestic matches and it pays off so far. Ludogorets played three matches at own turf this summer, taking 3-0 win, 2-2 draw and 0-1 defeat to Levski. Any of these results would suite the main purpose of the team.
Bulgarian side had advantage in the first leg but we can expect Viktoria to force things in this leg. However, we shouldn’t expect to see many scored goals as Ludogorets would be focusing on defensive line only while Viktoria doesn’t look like the side that can thrash strong visitors.
