Uganda take on the visitors Libya in international friendly match. The game will be played on Sunday, January 1st.
Uganda national football team had quite busy last year, taking part in 15 matches. New year also start with a friendly matchup. However, the team didn’t show great results last year, taking only three wins, seven draws and suffering five defeat. The team is currently second in their qualifying group for the World Cup 2018, taking four points in two matches played and can consider themselves as contenders for a place at the main stage of the competition.

Libya national team didn’t take part in that many matches in 2016, playing almost twice less games, seven. The visiting side managed to record only two wins, one draw and suffered four defeats, including two losses in the group stage of qualification for the World Cup, 0-4 against DR Congo and 0-1 against Tunisia.
The opponents have faced one another only two times in their recent history when Libya defeated today’s hosts in August 2006, 3-2 and another head-to-head ended with 1-1 in March 2008. We shouldn’t expect a high-scoring result from the opponents in the match on the first day of new year. The opponents are of about the same mediocre level. A friendly before the start of Africa Cup of Nations suggests the teams won’t show their best skills.
Prediction for the match: Under 2.5 goals.
