Serbia takes on the visitors Moldova “Stadion Rajko Mitic” in the gameweek seven of the Europe’s Qualifiers Group stage for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. The match will be played in Belgrade on Saturday, September 2nd.
Serbia comes up to the fight with three-clash unbeaten series. Slavoljub Muslin’s side performs successfully in the current qualifying cycle, having gained 12 points with 13-7 goal difference and sharing the first-second places with Ireland in the Group D, being four points ahead of solid Wales and Austria national football teams. However, the Serbians’ results in the home matches are rather moderate: 2:2 draw against Ireland, 1:1 draw vs. Wales and 3:2 victory over Austria. Thus, the side has already faced its main opponents, all it has to do is to take its points in at the home field.

Moldova also comes up to the game with a series, but it is the no-win series consisting on four encounters. After six rounds played Moldova is the weakest team in the Group D with two points earned and 4-15 goal difference. In three matches on the road Moldova gained one single point in a draw 1:1 against Georgia alongside with 0:4 defeat to Wales and 0:2 loss to Austria.
Serbia won with 3:0 scoreline in the reverse fixture on the road. Slavoljub Muslin’s team is also expected to get a victory at its own turf as current Moldovan side doesn't look like a team which is able to stop the Balkan side at the latter home field while Serbia must take the chance to promote to the major football event as the Serbians failed all the recent qualifying cycles.
Prediction for the match: Serbia to win with -2.0 Asian handicap.
