Real Madrid clash with Sevilla at Lerkendal Stadion in the UEFA Super Cup.
Real Madrid managed to win their 11th title of the Champions League as they beat their rivals Atletico Madrid on penalty shootout. During their preseason Zinedine Zidane’s side played 3 friendlies as they were victorious over Chelsea (3:2) and Bayern Munich (1:0) and lost to PSG (1:3). There were not many changes in the Real Madrid’s squad this transfer window as they signed home-grown Alvaro Morata, while Arbeloa and Jese left the club.

Sevilla won their third consecutive Europa League title last season as they outplayed Liverpool in the final (3:1). There was a huge makeover in the club this summer. Jorge Sampaoli replaced Unai Emery who had taken over PSG. Sevilla lost almost all of their leaders: Krychowiak, Banega, Coke, Gameiro, Reyes, Llorente. On top of that, the visitors signed Correa, Ganso, Kiyotake, Vazquez, Ben Yedder and Vietto to replace those who left. Sevilla played 5 friendly matches this preseason and won all of them with 12:4 goal difference.
Clearly Real Madrid have tremendous advantage over Sevilla in the head-to-head record. On top of that, Real have changed half of their squad, so they haven’t encountered troubles of integrating of newly-signed players. Sevilla underwent significant changes and it’s hard to believe they will go through this process flawlessly.
Prediction for the match: Real Madrid to win.
